One of my favorites…

Jamie has a career ending injury which killed his dreams of becoming NFL’s Rookie of the Year. He gives himself time to have a pity party before he decides to return to his hometown, Pippen Creek. He’s not sure what he’s going to do especially with his unrequited love for his married best friend Chaz.

Chaz has always felt far more than friendship for Jamie but he thought Jamie was straight and never wanted to chance their friendship. Chaz will break your heart. He’s carrying so many burdens between his business, his marriage and his relationship with his father he’s barely hanging on. He feels bad but he’s really happy that Jamie has come home, even injured, but he struggles to keep his feelings for him under wraps.

When life throws every thing but the kitchen sink at these guys you see the devastation and guilt overwhelm them.

Lynn Burke brought the angst in this one! I thought my heart wasn’t going to be able to take it. She took myself and these guys through every emotion possible.

I’ve loved Lynn’s previous series but I think this one’s going to be my favorite!
